I just got a Polaroid Zink for Christmas, and was totally psyched about taking it to our New Years weekend getaway with a bunch of friends. Instant Bluetooth prints from my phone! Thanks for leaving out the obvious and standard feature, Apple!

you must enable that ASAP, this is a joke that we paid a lot of money for this phone and it doesn't have the basic features that most mobiles in the market have..Why apple always have to be such money suckers!
I mean this is just deliberate. Cant think of any other reason not to include such a simple thing. It should say clearly bluetooth only for headset NOT for data (photo) transfer. I would have appreciated the honesty really.
Have been in love with iphone since it got released, finally got a hold on a 3g, incredible, but some basic things such as bluetooth and copy/paste to use it as a storage has dissapointed me and frustrated me so much, i am seriously thinking of selling it and getting another type of smart phone!! Very dissapointed although i have always been promoting apple as something incredible!!!

amazing that such an expensive phone has limited bluetooth. although there are a few on the virge of unlocked the bluetooth capability on this phone. which i think for the price it should include this very basic feature. most free phones as well as cheap go phones but they decided to leave this out. how many times have company's tried to lock down on things and people develop a way to get around it. if theres a rule or code against it someone will go around it. thats just the nature of things.
You should have advertised that this phone has limited Bluetooth.
When some one looks at the thing and it says supports bluetooth, you automatically think it will support everything, I mean its 2008 for cying out loud.

Do it. Technically should be very simple. Open a enormous range of applications to the device, like read EAN barcodes through external reader (my need).
The bluetooth issue is a joke. I didnt even check when i bought the phone , I just assumed it would be the same as 99.9% of phones on the market ...........you live and learn

hey apple, this really needs sorting out, if I had know this I honestly would not have bought the iPhone, please sort it out in the next update, and perhaps a video function for the camera.

Have just bought a TomTom and am surprised to find that although I can connect via Bluetooth, i cannot use some of the TomTom services like Traffic due to the limited Bluetooth function in the iPhone! hopefully this will be resolved in a software update as well as cut and paste and search.

I'm disgusted. After paying almost $600.00 US dollars for two iphones and a calling plan. I can't transfer files via bluetooth as other cheaper phones can. I think I'll try to sell it and go back to verizon.
hi i have taken my ipod phone back to 02 as i couldnt beleive that there is blue tooth on it i need that for my work blue tooth is standard on even the cheapest phone you can get so why havent you included it on the ipod you certainy have lost a few customers with it as lot of my work mates need and use blue tooth for work as well
Quite frankly it is ridiculous that this hasn't been a standard feature on the iPhone from day #1. And the ability to use your shiny new gadget as a bluetooth remote to control iTunes, Front Row or whatever without having to rely on wifi or browser based remotes would be a welcome addition also. I mean....come on! Really? Not even a whiff of basic Bluetooth functionality here!

I've just gone to send all my contacts from my Sony W890i to my iPhone 3G and the iPhone cannot find any BT devices, the Sony finds the iPhone and my iMac, the iPhone finds nothing! Now all these contacts have got to be copied manually.
man...i so wish that Apple would jus SIMPLY include all (or at least the BASIC FILE TRANSFER) bluetooth profiles soon...i mean, i can bet with u tat at LEAST 90% of ALL PHONES IN THE MARKET RIGHT NOW have a proper working bluetooth, not 1 tats crippled and ON PURPOSE...
without it, it's not like a normal phone..
